MENTAL MAP

A "mental map" can best be explained as a visual display, inside a person's head, showing where a person has traveled in the past or where they are in the present. A mental map shows what the person knows about the location and the uniqueness of a place. No mental map is alike. Every person has his or her own mental map "image". Mental Maps are representations of the real world. There might be a degree of error in determining ones position, but that is why is a mental map.
